Let us explain how the FEMA Map Service Center works for you
to get you the FEMA Flood Map that you maybe inquiring about!
When you click onto the FEMA Map Service Center you will come to the above web page.
In the upper right portion of this page you will see a box titled Product Search by Address.
Simply fill in the address that you want to check the FEMA Flood Map for, as you see in the print screen above we have typed in the address of 1900 E Main St., Van Buren, AR 72956.
When you have typed in the required information
(every line must be filled in with information for it to search properly)
click on the Product Search button.
Now, you come to this portion of the FEMA Map Service Center
that gives you information about the map you are looking for.
Notice the Map Item ID on the left (05033C0235E)
the Description (Crawford County, Unincorporated & Incorporated Areas)
the Effective Date (08/05/1991) when the map was developed,
the Show LOMC (Letters Of Map Changes) and
the View button. Let's go to the View button, click it.
Now you are into the Map Service Center Viewer of the map you have inquired about.
Use the buttons on the left to zoom into, pan around, zoom out of the map.
Here is the portion of the map that we have zoom into the area of interest (1900 E Main St).
Let's see, uhm, we want to print the portion of the map we are interested in?
Take you mouse and left button click and hold the green square with the filled in pink color.
Position this green square over the area of interest and then release the left button.
You have just positioned the print area over that portion of the map that you want information from.
Please note that everything in the green square within the map area will be printed,
including the map title page information as shown above in the green filled in square boxes.
Now look over to the left of the Map Service Center Viewer
to find the Adobe PDF button and the Image File.
You can print either one or both of these, but most often the Adobe PDF is the best chose
so most persons and computer systems can view the printed map.
Be sure to go back to the Map Service Center - Map Search Results page and click the
Show LOMC (Letters Of Map Change).
This will be formal letters of any changes made to this specific FEMA Map.
